Baseball to Take On No. 12 Washington in Four-Game Set Starting Friday

SEATTLE, Wash. – Indiana State will wrap up its West Coast swing this weekend when the Sycamores take on No. 12 Washington starting Friday at 9 p.m. ET. The Sycamores will play a doubleheader Saturday starting at 5 p.m. ET and close out the series Sunday at 4 p.m. ET before heading back to Terre Haute.  
 
LOOKING AT THE SYCAMORES
Tony Rosselli (.435) and Dominic Bifano (.359) lead the team in hitting while Kyle Moore is hitting .333 in seven starts for the Sycamores, including two home runs and eight RBI. Rosselli leads the club with 13 RBI, four triples and a .804 slugging percentage. Four Sycamores have a pair of home runs this season. 
 
On the mound, Jeremy McKinney is a perfect 3-0 with a 1.76 ERA. The junior struck out seven batters in his last outing to up his season total to 21 in 15.1 innings of work. Sophomore Tyler Ward holds a 2-1 record and a 4.70 ERA. Ward knocked off Utah Valley in his last outing going 5.0 innings and striking out three.
 
LOOKING AT WASHINGTON
Washington enters play with a 7-4 overall record after taking 3-of-4 from Sacramento State over the weekend. The team is led offensively by Joey Morgan (.342) and MJ Hubbs (.304). As a club, the Huskies are hitting at a clip of .262 while the pitching staff holds a 3.34 ERA.
 
SERIES HISTORY
This weekend will mark the first meeting between the two programs. But the head coach of the Huskies, Lindsay Meggs, did spend three years as the head coach at Indiana State from 2007-09.
 
A BIG WEEKEND FROM ROSSELLI
Rosselli finished his weekend at Utah Valley with a .667 batting average and a 1.444 slugging percentage after going 12-of-18 in four games for the Sycamores. The Terre Haute native had eight extra-base hits including three doubles, four triples and a home run as he paced ISU with a .632 on-base percentage. In total, Rosselli scored 15 runs for the Trees on the weekend with eight RBIs and seven runs scored. In the series finale Sunday, Rosselli finished 3-for-4 with five RBI, two triples and a home run while scoring two runs.
 
LOOKING BACK
Indiana State split its weekend series with Utah Valley with a pair of wins each in the programs' first meeting with the Wolverines. The Sycamores dropped the series opener before sweeping the Saturday doubleheader, scoring 21 runs on the day. ISU failed to clinch the series Sunday, falling to UVU 9-7.
 
THE BATS WERE LIVE
Indiana State finished Saturday's games against Utah Valley with a combined 32 hits with 13 of those as extra-base hits. As a team, ISU batted .395 while slugging .630 which included nine doubles, two triples and a pair of home runs. Chris Ayers recorded five hits to lead the Sycamores on the day.
