Dane Giesler has paced the Sycamores this season with a team-best 15 RBIs and four home runs. As a team, the Sycamores are hitting .285 and have hit for 40 doubles, eight triples and 18 homers.
LOOKING AT THE PANTHERS
Eastern Illinois comes into play with a 2-16 overall record after dropping two of three to Jacksonville State over the weekend. The team is led offensively by Joseph Duncan (.307) and Nicholas McCormick (.304). As a club, the Panthers are hitting at a clip of .213 while the pitching staff holds a 9.14 ERA.
SERIES HISTORY
The Sycamores lead the all-time series that dates back to 1905, 111-86. The last time the two squads met on the diamond was April 9, 2015 when the Sycamores fell to WIU, 5-4. ISU has won seven of the last 10 meetings between the two programs.

On the mound, the Sycamores have been dominant in the strikeout category, retiring 167 batters via strikeouts through 19 games. Junior

A GOOD WEEKEND SHOWING
The Sycamores opened the home portion of their 2017 schedule with a bang over the weekend, sweeping the Oakland Golden Grizzlies at Bob Warn Field. The Sycamores capped off the series with a 5-4 walk-off win Sunday afternoon to move above .500 on the season. In the three-game series, ISU outhit Oakland .320 to .206 while ISU pitching fanned 26 OU batters.

Kyle Moore continues to get better at the plate, upping his average to .358 on the year; second on the team. Moore recorded six hits on the weekend including a season high four hits on Saturday alone. The game signified his first multi-hit game since Mar. 4 when he had two hits against Utah Valley.
MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
Following a 4-0 loss to Seattle Mar. 8, the Sycamores have won five of their last seven outings, including a pair of games against nationally ranked Washington. With a three-game sweep over the weekend, ISU has now won a season best three-games straight and will look to add to that total Tuesday when they host regional foe Eastern Illinois.
LOOKING AT THE NUMBERS
Indiana State has been outscored 122-113 through 19 games this season. The Sycamores' worst inning is the sixth when its opponents have scored 25 runs while ISU has tallied just 12 runs. The team's best inning is the ninth in which the Sycamores have pummeled the opposition, 21-5. ISU is 8-1 when outhitting the opposition and 8-5 when scoring the first run of a contest. On the other hand though, the Sycamores are 1-4 when opponents score first and 1-7 when getting outhit.
