NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Three Sycamore men's distance runners represented Indiana State well at Notre Dame this afternoon at the Alex Wilson Invite.
Senior All-American and reigning MVC Indoor and Outdoor Most Valuable Athlete
David Timlin completed his first race of the season in the men's 800-meter. Timlin finished fourth overall and third in Heat Two at 1:51.37, which exactly ties his previous indoor career-best from 2015 (also run at Notre Dame) down to the hundredth. Timlin was already ranked fifth all-time in school history, but now ranks eighth in the Valley this year heading into the MVC Indoor Championships next week.
Junior
Blake Kramer also had a career day in the 800, finishing 15th overall at a new PR of 1:52.93, the ninth-best time in school history.
Sophomore
Akis Medrano kept up his superb second season with the Sycamores as well in the men's mile run. Medrano ran a new PR of 4:10.73, which falls .23 seconds short of the top-10 list in school history but ranks eighth in the Valley this year.
The Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held Feb. 25-26 inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
