CANCUN, Mexico – Indiana State senior
Ashley Taia was named to the Cancun Challenge All-Tournament team Saturday following her 21-point performance against South Dakota Friday evening.
Taia finished the Cancun Challenge shooting 44.4 percent (8-for-18) from the field and was 45.4 percent (5-for-11) in 3-point shooting.
A native of Brisbane, Australia, Taia tallied five rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block while averaging 28.5 minutes per game.
Indiana State went 1-1 in the Cancun Challenge with a 57-45 win over Montana Thursday before dropping a 71-59 decision to South Dakota on Friday.
The Sycamores will now return to Terre Haute, Indiana to host Missouri S&T on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Tipoff at the Hulman Center is set for 7 p.m.
