TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer announces the selection of three-student athletes to Missouri Valley Conference post season teams.

Katie Wells, Kasey Wallace and Alina Steffen all earned post season awards for their performances during the 2017 season.

Wells was named Second Team All-Conference, as Wallace earned Honorable Mention and Steffen was named to the All-Freshman Team.

These three each provided standout performances for the Sycamores throughout the 2017 season.

Wells finished off her junior as Indiana State's point leader with 14, as well as leading goal scorer with six. Wells also notched two assists this season from her forward position. This is the second year in a row that Wells has been selected for a Valley team as she was voted First Team All-MVC following her breakout 2016 season.

Wallace started in every game during her senior season for the Sycamores accumulating over 1,494 minutes. Wallace has started in nearly every game of her collegiate career and has been the consistent rock of the Indiana State backline since stepping on the field as a freshman in 2014. Wallace also came away with two assists during her senior campaign.

Steffen provided an impressive season in her debut as a Sycamore. She notched a total of three goals and one assist this season and two of these goals were during conference matches. One goal was a game winner over Illinois State and the other was the tying goal in the Sycamores matchup with Valparaiso. Steffen also led the team in game winning goals this season with a total of two.

"This was a great and well-deserved honor for these three. Each of them were dedicated, hard-working and model teammates throughout the entire season. For Kasey Wallace this is particularly special since she has finished out her career, but I cannot be more proud of her and she will be greatly missed," said head coach Julie Hanley.
