CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Indiana State Sycamores finished off their mid-season meet, the Bearcat Invitational, today (Nov. 18) finishing fourth.
"This morning was a great mix of lifetime best times and new school records and we noticed we need to get a little sharper in certain events as well, but the team is really loving the competition of this meet" said head coach
Matt Leach.
Kendall Hansen started off the day for ISU breaking her own previously held school record in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:04.08.
All of the other competitors in this event for ISU stepped up and recorded multiple in season best times for the Sycamores.
Blanca Saez-Illobre continued this momentum earning a fourth place finish and time of 2:20.30 in the 200 yard breaststroke.

Jacquie Price and
Cierra Campbell all finished strong proving standout performances for the Sycamores in the 200 butterfly.
Madison Brand provided a lifetime best time in the mile to finish off the morning session for ISU.
Indiana State looked to continue building this momentum heading into the finals session on the last day of the invite.
Cierra Campbell kicked off the finals session providing a strong performance in the 1650 freestyle with a 17.50.98 which was a new school record for ISU.
Hansen followed as she again broke her school record in the 200 backstroke posting a 2:03.26. Saez-Illobre was close behind with a fourth place finish in the 200 breaststroke which was yet again another school record, not only for the 200 but also was a split time record for the 100 breaststroke.
Indiana State continued to battle throughout the entire finals session as Marks, Price, and Campbell each posted strong times finishing back to back in the 200 butterfly.
Marks and Price each shattered the ISU school record as Price swam and 2:07.70 and Marks posted a 2:06.60.
The Sycamores finished off the day with another Indiana State school record in the 400 freestyle relay and time of 3:33.60.
"This program took some big steps forward today. Not only on a team level, but in an individual basis as well and I couldn't be happier with this group as we continue to move forward and prepare for conference," said Leach.
Indiana State will be back in action on Dec. 2 hosting the Indiana State Relay meet at the Vigo County Aquatic Center at 6 p.m.
