TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State track and field has added six student-athletes for the 2018-19 season, program director
Angela Martin announced Thursday.

Of the six athletes, five are from Indiana and one hails from Illinois. The 2017-18 track and field season begins at Eastern Illinois on Dec. 8 with the EIU Early Bird meet.

Maggie Falater // Mid-Distance // Fort Wayne, Ind. // Carroll HS
PRs: 5K - 18:52 // 4X800m Relay - 9:18.91 (2:19 split)

Accomplishments:
- 38th at 2017 IHSAA State Cross Country Meet
- 37th finisher at 2016 IHSAA State Cross Country Meet
- Member of third-place 4X800-meter relay team at 2017 IHSAA State Track and Field Meet
Coach Martin: "Maggie has been a part of some great teams at Carroll High School and I look forward to having her bring that team mindset to our distance squad. I love her personality and her upside is huge and she knows how to bring it at the big meets."

Chante Johnson // Jumps // Chicago, Ill. // Thornwood HS

Accomplishments:
- 11th at 2017 2A IHSA State Meet in the triple jump
- Placed second at the Michigan Interscholastic Track Series where she jumped her indoors personal-best
Coach Martin: "I am really looking forward to seeing Chante have some consistent training. She has improved every year and has the right mindset to be very good at our level."

- Finished ninth at the IHSAA State Championships in the high jump
Coach Martin: "Amiyah had a very consistent junior year and jumped over 5'4 in each meet of the tournaments season last year. We are excited to see her grow as a jumper under the tutelage of Coach Gartland. She has the ability to contend for a top spot in the Missouri Valley Conference."

Accomplishments:
- Fifth at the 2017 IHSAA State Championships in the 110-meter hurdles
- Finished fourth at the Indoor Hoosier State Relays in the 60-meter hurdles
Coach Martin: "Tremaine has been coached well and had incredible improvement from his sophomore to junior year. His senior year is going to be a bright spot in the state of Indiana as he continues his work on his form. Tremaine is a great addition to the ISU hurdle tradition."

- Placed 24th at the 2017 IHSAA Cross Country Championships
Coach Martin: "Noah's competitiveness at the Indiana State Cross Country Championships sold us on his ability to compete at this level. He has high goals for the rest of his senior year and is excited to put in the work to be a top Sycamore runner in the Missouri Valley."

Accomplishments:
- Ninth at the 2017 IHSAA Track and Field Championships in the 1600-meter run
- Two-time Sectional champion in the 1600-meters
- 2016 Cross Country Sectional champion
Coach Martin: "Justin is a raw talent. He has flown under the radar a bit and we are excited to see how his senior track season goes. Justin will be able to come in and be a top miler for us. He has great range and will be able to float from the 800 meters up through the cross-country distances. His dad, Bill, is a former Sycamore Coach."
