TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Indiana State football closes out the 2017 season Saturday (Nov. 18) in Cedar Falls where they will face No. 24 Northern Iowa. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET from the UNI Dome.
Saturday's game will be broadcast live on The Valley On ESPN3. Brad Wells will handle the play-by-play duties. Danan Hughes will serve as the color commentator and Kelly Burke will handle sideline duties.
Sycamore fans can also listen live on the radio on WIBQ 97.9 FM (1230 AM) or online at
GoSycamores.com/Watch with
Luke Martin (play-by-play) and
Tom James (color).
UNI leads the all-time series between the two programs, 26-5, including a 14-1 mark in Cedar Falls. The last time the Sycamores knocked off UNI on the road came in 1988. Currently UNI is on a two-game winning streak in the series, outscoring ISU 98-19 in those contests.
With one game remaining in the 2017 season, Indiana State is looking to keep itself out of the record book by picking up a win at Northern Iowa. ISU is winless this season and a loss to the Panthers would put the Sycamores at 0-12 for the first time since 2008 when Trent Miles took over an ailing football program that had won just one game in the three seasons prior.
Earlier this season, the Sycamores had a stretch five-straight games against nationally ranked opponents, including three straight against top-10 competition - the first time that has happened in school history. After a three-week hiatus against nationally ranked foes, the Sycamores will finish the season with two more. In total, the Sycamores will have played seven ranked opponents in 11 games, one of the toughest schedules in the nation.
