Two years ago Devonte Brown and
Niels Bunschoten proudly wore the Sycamore blue and battled against their Missouri Valley basketball rivals. Now they play on rival teams in Europe and here's the latest update:
Devonte Brown (Class of '16) is lighting it up as a starting guard for
Uni Baskets Paderborn, Westphalia, Germany, and
Niels Bunschoten (Class of '17) is a starting forward for his own national team in the Netherlands for
Aris Leeuwarden.
A couple of weeks ago the two friends and former teammates found themselves facing off as their teams played against each other. They say it's great that Devonte's playing this year in Germany – only about 3-1/2 hours from Leeuwarden, where Niels plays for Holland's national team.Â
Last year Devonte played in Bosnia which took him on an entirely different circuit. The two friends look forward to spending some time together reminiscing about their good old days as Sycamores.
