ST. LOUIS - Indiana State redshirt senior
Marcus Neely has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. It marks the first weekly award for Neely in his career.
Neely, an Indianapolis native, picked up right where he left off in 2016 with a strong open in the 60-meter hurdles. In the finals-only race, Neely ran 7.91 seconds for the win, currently the third-fastest time in the nation. Neely has a career-best of 7.85 seconds, which ranks seventh all-time at Indiana State and was good for second at the 2016 MVC Indoor Championships behind All-American teammate
Adarius Washington.
