TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State head football coach
Curt Mallory announced the early #2THE4EST signing class on Wednesday afternoon as the Sycamores welcomed 16 players to the roster in the December early signing period.
Highlighting the class included eight true freshmen and eight transfers as the Sycamores recruited from across the country for the early signing class. ISU's class features five players from the Hoosier State, while additional signees come from Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, New York, Florida, Texas, Ohio, Kansas, and Kentucky.
The early signing class had an offensive slant with 11 of the 16 players coming on the offensive side of the ball. Five different position groups were impacted led by six wide receivers and four offensive linemen, while multiple defensive backs and defensive linemen were also signed to NLI on Wednesday. The Sycamores also added a quarterback in the early signing period.
"Today was a special day," Mallory said. "It was a very productive day. The coaching staff did a great job getting out and hitting the ground running during this recruiting period. We're at the halfway point with the signing day today and have another one in February. We were able to hit this class early where we needed to up front and at the wide receiver position. We're going to regroup here and get ready to start round two."
The Sycamores will announce their spring practice schedule at a later date.
