Women’s Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award

NEW ORLEANS – The Indiana State women's cross country program has earned the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team award, the USTFCCCA announced Thursday afternoon.
 
In order to earn All-Academic Team honors, teams must have had a cumulative team GPA at the end of the most recent semester/quarter of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and competed in the regional meet.
 
The Sycamore women earned the All-Academic Team award for the 25th time since 1994 by earning a 3.56 GPA for the fall semester, an improvement from the 3.42 GPA at the same time last season.
 
In addition to Indiana State, 236 other Division I women's teams earned the honor, eight Missouri Valley Conference programs. Other Valley programs to earn the honor included Illinois State (3.62), Missouri State (3.60), Drake (3.59), Loyola (3.59), Southern Illinois (3.57), Evansville (3.55), Valparaiso (3.49) and Bradley (3.48). As a conference, the average GPA of the MVC rose from a 3.52 last fall to a 3.56 this fall.
